Three types of Aluminum Oxide Thermal Spray Powder

Thermal spray ceramic coating was recognized in the 1940s, and the development and demand of aerospace technology played a significant role in promoting. A series of research work in the United States NACA confirmed the application of ceramic coating in the field of Aeronautics. NACA scientists and engineers have studied the oxide ceramic coating performance, combined with the influence of metal alloy matrix and ceramic coating gas turbine blade to improve the heat resistant alloy, which works under high temperature and the service life which laid the foundation the application of ceramic coating in this field. By the early 1960s, ceramic coatings were applied to X-15 rocket nozzles. After that, a part of the stable zirconia coating as a thermal barrier coating in the gas turbine and other high temperature work in the heat corrosion, erosion of the components are widely used. Other ceramic coatings, such as alumina, chromium oxide, titanium oxide-based ceramic coatings are also used in the fields of textiles, petrochemicals, machinery manufacturing, energy and power.

 

Alumina has a high melting point (2323K), thermal conductivity is 28.89W / (m · K), linear expansion coefficient is 8.5 × 10-6 / ℃. It has high chemical stability (alkali resistance and hydrofluoric acid corrosion at room temperature) high hardness (1800 ~ 2300HV), high isolation strength. Due to different kind of excellent properties, alumina is widely used in industrial ceramic products and ceramic coating products.

The melting powder of Al2O3≥99.0% is about 2038℃。The coating has good corrosion resistance,wear resistance and high temperature resistance . It’s commonly used for pump mechanical sealing, mud pump pluger, turbommachine blade,valve, friction parts, etc in plasma spraying. Common size is -200+400cpsi(mesh), -40+20μm.

 

 2 , 60Al2O3-40TiO2  Aluminum Titanium oxide ceramics powder

The melting powder of 60Al2O3-40TiO2 is about 1840℃. The coating has good dense and good toughness, high bonding strength. It’s commonly used for drive gear journal, polished jig, fluid pressure motor valve ,compressor shaft ect in plasma spray.

 

3, 87Al2O3 - 13TiO2   Aluminum Titanium oxide ceramics powder

87Al2O3 - 13TiO2 powder is a Alumina Oxide Thermal Spray Powder that used for Plasma spraying. The coating is density. It has the advantages such as low porosity, good toughness and corrosion resistant, wear resistant grain hardfaced fiber microtremor cavitation and particle erosion abrasion. The powder is used for mud pump plunger, color transfer roller, drawing drum , godet wheel roller, roller mechanical seal ring punch bushing parts such as crankshaft spraying.
