How to choose the right ceramic Anilox roller

The price of the anilox roller depends on the size, usage and brand. And the price varies from thousand to hundreds of thousands. So how to choose the right ceramic anilox roller?

1, The anilox roller is selected according to the characteristics of the substrate.

If the surface of the substrate is rough, the amount of ink absorbed is large. In this case, an anilox roller with a small number of mesh lines should be used because the amount of ink transferred from the cell is large. On the other hand, if the printed surface is relatively confusing, the amount of ink absorbed is small. For this, a textured transfer roller with a high number of mesh lines and a small amount of ink transfer should be used.

For varnishing of printed materials, a 40LPC anilox roller can be used. For printing on the absorptive material, a 60LPC anilox roller can be used. In non-absorbent plastic, aluminum foil and other materials printed on the side of the physical version, you can choose 80 LPC anilox roller. For text version, field version, line version or screen printing, you can choose 100 ~120 LPC anilox roller.

The anilox roller is selected according to the mesh line of the printing plate.

In order to reproduce the dot-tone dots of the flexographic printing accurately and completely, it is necessary to ensure that each dot on the printing plate can be inked. and to avoid dots falling into the screen wall of the ink hole of the screen print roller without ink or incomplete ink. Therefore, the aperture area of the inking hole of the anilox roller should be smaller than the dot area of the printing plate, that is, the number of mesh lines should be larger than the number of mesh lines, and ensure that each printing plate has one or several anilox rollers ink holes to provide ink. In order to prevent the appearance of tortoise marks on the printed products, the best hole angle of the screen roller is 45 degrees. The number of mesh lines between screen roller and printing plate can be chosen between 3:1-4:1.

3, Select anilox roller according to the characteristics of the printing layout

For fine screen printing or small text layout, the anilox roller with a higher number of lines can be selected, so that the ink transfer capacity is small and the ink coating is uniform. Conversely, for printing large area or large font layout, a smaller number of anilox rollers can be selected to ensure that the layout is uniform and sufficient ink.

4, Selecting anilox roller according to different inking conveying devices

Under the condition of the same number of mesh lines, the ink transfer amount of the quadrangular pyramid ink hole is generally smaller than that of the four shuttle plate ink hole, and the volume of the tapered ink hole will be reduced by wear.

Therefore, the reticulated ink transfer roll with quadripyramidal ink hole structure is suitable for the rubber bucket roller - reticulated ink transfer roller inking system.  The mesh ink transfer rollers with four-prism, six-shuttle platform-shaped ink hole are suitable for the mesh ink transfer roller-scraper ink transfer system. Since the ink is removed from the surface of the anilox roller by the squeegee, it is required to be cleaned, and no ink remains on the surface of the anilox roller. Therefore, the ink passage volume of the anilox roller used in the inking system is It must be larger, and the number of screen lines of the anilox roller is required to be 200 LPC or more.
