The Influence Of the Spraying Process Parameters On the Coating Performance
(1) The influence of spraying current.
The spraying current is proportional to the wire feeding speed. While increasing the spraying current, the arc spray production efficiency is increased, coating porosity is reduced, bonding strength is enhanced. But the current is limited by the power. And the suggested spraying current is 180-240A according to different material.
(2) The influence of spraying voltage.
When using the higher spraying voltage, the oxidation and burning loss of carbon will be more, the deposition efficiency will be less, the micro hardness and abrasion resistance of the coating will be less also. So while making sure the spraying arc stable, the spraying voltage should be as small as possible. And the suggested spraying voltage is 28-38V according to different material.
(3) The influence of spraying distance.
The speed and temperature of the spray particles, which hitting the substrate is mostly related to the spraying distance. Spraying distance larger or smaller is not good to improve the wear-resistance and bonding strength. While increasing the spraying distance, the oxidation and coating porosity will be more. And the suggested spraying distance is 150-200mm according to different material.
(4) The influence of spraying atomizing air pressure.
When the atomizing air pressure is more, the atomized particles will be abundant, and the coating density will be better, but the oxidation will be more. If the condition of compressed air is good, then can improve the bonding strength by increasing the atomizing air pressure. And the suggested spraying distance is 0.45-0.6Mpa according to different material.
