Advantage of Flame spray process
Flame spray is widely used in cement plant and electric plant, it helps to create high economic value.
The main advantages of this technology are as below:
1. Normal base metal, nonmetal can be sprayed, there is no limit for shape and size of base material, but small hole couldn’t be sprayed so far.
2. The spray material is extensive, metal, alloy, ceramic, composite all can be used for coating material. It can bring various properties to surface, such as anti-corrosion, anti-wear, high temperature resistance, thermal insulation, etc.
3. The porousness texture of spray coating has properties of Oil lubrication and anti-attrition, the macroscopic hardness of spray coating which contains hard phase can reach 450HB, spray coating layer can reach 65HRC.
4. The influence of flame spray is very small to base material, the heated temperature of base material surface is 200-250℃, and overall is around 70-80℃, so transformation of base material is small, and the material texture won’t be changed.
But flame spay is not perfect, according to practical summarize, this technology has some defects of: The bonding strength of spray coating layer with base material is low, it couldn’t bear alternating load and impulse load. The preparation requirement of base material surface is high. Flame spray technology will be influenced by many conditions, now there is no effective method to test the coating quality.
